My Remix of DHT's "Listen to Your Heart"

I tried to keep true to the song, so all I did was speed it up (to make it danceable), add some violin, and a drum track. Tell me what you guys think!
Disclaimer: The original song belongs to DHT, I only remixed it!!!

"Puppet Heart" by Alex Tran

I wrote this last week... It's really raw and unfinished, but I hope you will enjoy it nonetheless!

Lyrics:

Woven together
With good intentions
But sometimes
A thread gets loose
I unwravel

Well I'd like to think I could dream someday
But daddy says I got a puppet's heart
Well I'd like to think I could dance someday
Somewhere in a big parade

Down Main Street
Weaving in and out
Through crowds like
Needle pulling thread

Well I'd like to think I could love someday
Find a spark in someone else's heart
Well I'd like to think I could love someday
But puppet hearts only burn and burn

Down Main Street
Weaving in and out
Through crowds like
Needle pulling thread

Well I'd like to think someday
Well I'd like to feel something

Down Main Street
Weaving in and out
Through crowds like
Needle pulling thread

Oh, puppet heart
Puppet heart

Welcome to AlexTranMusic! (^.^)

Hello everybody! ;P

In case you don't know, my name is Alex Tran and I am a sophomore in Arcadia High School who loves to write, listen to, and edit music. I created this blog page especially for my music--that includes original compositions, covers of songs, remixes, and more!

Here's a little background info on me:

I was born and raised in California, and grew up with a mum who NEVER let me listen to the radio, MTV, or any of that good stuff. The most decent CDs in the house were all disney tapes...(and that, my friends, is why I am a Disney fanatic to this day).

Anywho, I made the most of the music I had, and so I annoyed everyone in every room of my house by singing Disney songs all day long... When I turned 13, my mum bought me a new CD player that, little did she know (or did she?), had a built in FM radio. So every second I had, when my mum was out shopping or even sleeping in the other room, I would turn my FM radio on and listen to the world of music I never had experienced before: Synths, R&B, rap, hip-hop, pop, electronic.....

Man, all I'd heard before was broadway and cheesy Disney lyrics.

But anyway, from that time on I've had this special, magical feeling with music....while the other kids had been singing Hit Me Baby One More Time since kindergarten, I was just now learning the lyrics.

So I've dedicated these past couple years learning the wonders that music can bring....Since then, I've earned myself an iPod Nano (5th generation with FM radio) for my 15th birthday, used up over $116 in iTunes gift cards, taught myself piano, guitar (and I already know trumpet since I was little), and have been enrolled in Sierra Madre Academy For Vocal Arts for the past three years.

I have plenty of rough sketches of songs recorded on my phone, iPod, computer....but I only have about 7 edited and complete songs done. My songs range anywhere from highly electronic to very vocal, raw pieces. I plan to release my songs on Tunecore sometime after high school, once I have perfected them and weeded out the bad ones :)

Anywho, back onto this whole blog thing.
So basically, I will be posting up some of my original compositions for free listening, and updating for new music news, blah blah....Maybe even list some artists that you guys might like ;) By the way, I LOVE criticism, so don't be scared to speak your mind!!! :D

Anyway, happy listening!

PEACE!!!!!!
